The following are thoughts and notes from this week’s Hospital Purchasing Coalition Seminar, a unique industry event bringing together hospitals, health systems, regional purchasing coalitions and their suppliers, underway in Dallas, Texas
DALLAS, TEXAS — It’s November 9th and we have kicked off our second day of the Hospital Purchasing Coalition Seminar meeting in Dallas. Yesterday afternoon, members poured in as Dan Nielsen, founder of NIHCL, opened the session with an overview of the upcoming day — and what a day of content it turned out to be!
Supplier attendees heard directly from the source “What/who is the RPC” as executives from RPCs around the country revealed the inner workings of their coalitions.
Then, it was time to move into an interactive panel conversation, comprised of representatives from purchasing coalitions and IDNs. The discussion opened up as suppliers asked their pressing questions, such as, “What can I do, as a supplier, to work most effectively with you?”
The specific answers promoted more dialogue as attending suppliers, RPCs, and IDNs offered solutions and action plans for creating mutually beneficial working relationships.
Day Two promises to bring even more actionable solutions, as speakers from major GPOs take the stage to share how they work with suppliers and their members and how they can drive compliance from their members — two popular topics among the supplier community here.
So far, the seminar has opened several doors for improved relationships between attendees, and there is still more to come!
