More than half of respondents to a recent survey of healthcare supply chain executives conducted by the IDN Summit agreed that healthcare reform has “led their organization to focus more intensely on utilizing collaboration across the supply chain as a means for cost reduction and improved efficiency.”
According to the IDN Summit, the survey also asked healthcare execs to identify the category of partner their organization best collaborated with in improving supply chain performance, with GPOs garnering more responses at 34 percent than suppliers and other healthcare providers together, the latter receiving 22 percent and 4 percent of responses, respectively.
