Enthusiastically Explain It – Live It – Model It!
Using every conceivable communication channel and technique, exceptional leaders consistently and continuously drive home major themes. They daily communicate concepts and principles that will ultimately make or break individuals, teams, and the very organization itself.
Here is an excellent, powerful example. Jim Wetrich, President & CEO of The Wetrich Group, drives his point home:
“Integrity. It takes a lifetime to develop and can be lost in a nanosecond. Once it’s gone… it’s gone. Nobody can take integrity away from you. Only you can lose it or give it away. Don’t ever do anything that puts you in a situation where you feel compromised—just don’t do it. Integrity is the currency of business.”
Jim Wetrich communicates this crucial concept and principle in scores of different ways. Saying it differently, writing it differently, telling stories and providing examples—both good and bad, and clearly articulating ramifications. Talking about it, explaining it, living it!
What about you and your leadership? Are you communicating crucial concepts and principles in scores of different powerful ways? Are you consistently and continuously driving home major themes? Daily communicating concepts and principles that will ultimately make or break individuals, teams, and the very organization itself?
In this crucial area of leadership, self-examination confirmed by feedback from colleagues is very important. You are a leader. Your job is to be strategic and to positively influence those you lead.
Carefully select or create major themes, concepts, strategies, and principles that will ultimately make or break the individuals, teams, and your organization itself. Then, using every conceivable communication channel and technique, consistently and continuously drive home the major success factors within your organization.
Enthusiastically and continuously explain, live, and model what is most important within your organization.
