St. Luke’s names new co-presidents/CEOs

March 11, 2021  –   St. Luke’s (Duluth, MN) board of directors has named St. Luke’s  CFO Eric Lohn and St. Luke’s chief medical officer Nick Van Deelen, MD, as co-presidents/CEOs of St. Luke’s.

Lohn and Van Deelen began serving in these roles on an interim basis in early December 2020.

Lohn has served as St. Luke’s CFO for eight years and has nearly 30 years of healthcare experience.

Van Deelen has been with St. Luke’s for 24 years. He has served as CMO for the past year. Prior to that, he was an emergency medicine physician and led the Emergency Department as Medical Director.

Lohn will also continue his role as CFO role and Van Deelen will continue as CMO in addition to their new responsibilities.

St. Luke’s is a regional healthcare system offering a comprehensive continuum of care serving the 17-county region of northeastern Minnesota, northwestern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

The system includes St. Luke’s Hospital (Duluth, MN), Lake View Hospital (Two Harbors, MN), and 11 primary and 27 specialty clinics. Primary care clinics are located in Duluth, Hermantown, Hibbing, Two Harbors, Mountain Iron and Silver Bay, Minnesota, and Ashland and Superior, Wisconsin.
