It’s about time…
Welcome to the first issue of The Journal of Healthcare Contracting. I am thrilled to have you as a reader.
The idea of starting a magazine focused on the healthcare-contracting arena has intrigued me for nearly three years. I’ve traveled the contracting circuit attending HIPGA Expos, Federation of American Hospitals shows, NCI meetings, GPO meetings and countless manufacturers’ sales meetings. At these gatherings I would invariably see the same people, all with the same objective in mind – to succeed in the healthcare-contracting arena.
It struck me as unusual that there wasn’t a publication dedicated to this dynamic and growing marketplace. So when I discussed the idea of starting a magazine dedicated to contracting, a number of industry experts gave me the same response over and over again: It’s about time!
The stakeholders in the contracting arena, including GPOs, IDNs, manufacturers and service suppliers, and distributors deserve to have a magazine dedicated to their profession. I hope The Journal of Healthcare Contracting will serve as the map and compass for your journey in healthcare contracting.
Our Mission
The Journal of Healthcare Contracting
will facilitate open and
meaningful communication for
the healthcare-contracting community.
The IDNs and GPOs continue to increase their contracting volume each year. I truly believe organizations put their best and brightest leaders on their contracting initiatives. Today there is a growing urgency associated with an organization’s effort to succeed in the contracting arena. This is the first and only publication dedicated to providing a voice to this expanding and dynamic market.
To quote the well-known author James Humes, “The art of communication is the language of leadership.” The leadership of our market needs a medium for communication and The Journal of Healthcare Contracting is poised to provide it. Providing Insight, Understanding and Community is our tagline, but more important, it’s why we get up every morning!
I would be remiss not to mention our charter sponsors that have made this magazine a reality. Without these forward thinking companies, you wouldn’t be reading this issue today:
