June 14, 2023 – Premier recently announced the addition of key hospitals to Kiindo™ – Premier’s pediatric-focused collaborative and purchasing alliance launched to help improve costs, quality and outcomes for U.S. children’s hospitals.
Recent Kiindo™ additions include Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) at VCU and Virginia Children’s Care Network, a clinically integrated network managed by community pediatricians and supported by CHoR. These organizations join Boston Children’s Hospital, Baystate Health and other leading providers to advance high-quality care for children and families across the nation.
As a founding member, Boston Children’s Hospital provides oversight leadership of Kiindo™, working with Premier and other members to develop solutions designed to meet the needs of children’s hospitals. Ranked the #1 children’s hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report nine years running, Boston Children’s is the primary pediatric teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
Children’s hospitals can be particularly vulnerable to supply chain disruptions, as some critical products have only one supplier capable of producing the necessary pediatric-specific equipment and supplies. Kiindo™ leverages the collective buying power of pediatric providers to develop and sustain a leading contract portfolio specifically focused on the unique needs of children’s hospitals. In addition, the program provides a dedicated channel and opportunities for member best practices and co-developed innovations, including the launch, scale and commercialization of new products, technologies and services that can improve pediatric care.
Guided by an Advisory Committee composed of prestigious children’s hospitals across the nation, Kiindo™ members can also leverage Premier’s PINC AI™ technology platform to determine optimal products and services for pediatric patients as well as find savings opportunities.
