December 11, 2020 – Premier Inc. (Charlotte, NC) has named Colin Bain as its president of Direct Sourcing, effective Dec. 7, 2020.
In this role, Bain will have overall responsibility for Premier’s direct sourcing business segment, including overall strategy and organic product line expansion. Bain will report to David Hargraves, SVP of Supply Chain.
One of Bain’s key initiatives will be to define and broaden the organic product line and deepen Premier’s channel partnerships, including via S2S Global, Premier’s direct sourcing business. S2S Global has played an integral role in helping members source scarce products during the COVID-19 pandemic and is a critical complement to Premier’s joint ventures with Prestige Ameritech and DeRoyal Industries to expand domestic PPE production.
With two decades of healthcare manufacturing, medical equipment, and international business and regulatory expertise, Bain’s skillset aligns with Premier’s strategy to expand direct sourcing capabilities and create replicable co-investment models with members to prevent shortages and ensure supply chain resiliency, the company says.
In his previous role as founder, president, and CEO of Linet Americas, a hospital bed manufacturer, Bain drove changes in the marketplace, grew the company and converted more than 500 customers in 46 states within the company’s first five years of existence. Prior to joining Linet Americas, he also served as a lead in operational, strategic planning and corporate development roles at Joerns Healthcare and Sunrise Medical.
