December 14, 2022 – Nominations are now open for the annual FAH Corris Boyd Diversity in Healthcare Leadership Award. This honor is given to an individual or company that has made an outstanding contribution to fostering leadership, partnering, and mentoring in the health care industry.
But who is Corris Boyd and why is this award named after him?
This year FAH is launching a podcast series – hosted by John Pritchard, President and CEO, Share Moving Media – to answer those questions by educating people about Corris and what he stood for. Each episode highlights the trailblazing role he played in health care supply chain diversity and why, after his untimely death, the FAH Exposition Committee decided in 2007 to establish this award to honor him.
The series starts with a conversation between Ed Jones, President and CEO of HealthTrust and Kerry Price, SVP, Operations, for FAH. They talk about the impact Corris’ career had on the industry, including his initiatives nearly three decades ago that served as the foundation for the Supplier Diversity program for HealthTrust and HCA Healthcare.
This episode also examines Corris’ continued influence today through the award that bears his name and the traits the committee looks for in an honoree – from mentorship, and preparedness to the ability to champion diversity inside and outside an organization.
