October 30, 2023- Pharmacy staff from drugstore chains including Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, and more, are planning to walk out this week in protest of working conditions. According to retail pharmacy staff, employees experience understaffed teams, insufficient pay, and long work hours with heavy workloads.
The walkout has been referred to as “Pharmageddon,” and will take place Monday, October 30 through Wednesday, November 1. The walkout could impact hundreds of stores across different retail pharmacy chains. According to CNBC, the recent protests across pharmacies have been one of the most active years for the U.S. labor movement in recent history.
