March 22, 2021 – The MidMichigan Health Board of Directors has approved a $61.5 million construction project to build a Comprehensive Cancer Center on the campus of MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland.
The Center, to be positioned adjacent to the Medical Center, will be located at the site of the existing Towsley Building. The structure and footprint of the Towsley Building will remain but the interior will be rebuilt to meet the needs of the new center.
The MidMichigan Health Foundation will be raising funds to support the building project in the near future.
The Michigan Department of Community Health must approve MidMichigan’s certificate of need (CON) before the 115,000-square-foot project can begin.
Once approval is received, the two-year construction project is slated to begin in spring 2022.
