August 15, 2022 – Medline recently celebrated the opening of two LEED-certified distribution centers, an 800,000 square-foot facility in St. Peters, Missouri and a 1.3 million-square-foot distribution center in Montgomery, New York.
On Monday, August 1, local dignitaries from the town of Montgomery, the Orange County Partnership, New York State Empire State Development, and representatives from Medline, major hospitals, nursing homes and healthcare providers in the region gathered on-site for the celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“Medline is a long-standing corporate citizen of the Hudson Valley, and we are honored to have the opportunity to celebrate the opening of our Montgomery facility with our 700-plus employees and community members that have supported us throughout the years. Thank you for joining us on this special day,” said Tom Fallon, director of operations for Medline’s Montgomery distribution center.
The $120 million cutting-edge facility handles the distribution of thousands of individual products and devices shipped to healthcare providers across the continuum of care, such as hospitals, nursing homes, ambulatory surgery centers, hospices and physicians’ offices. Medline is also in the process of completing a 7.4 megawatt (MW) solar panel installation at its Montgomery facility. Since 2016, Medline has globally invested more than $34 million in renewable energy. Medline’s portfolio includes 2,735,595 million square feet of solar rooftop space with over 60,000 solar panels.
The new St. Peters and Montgomery distribution centers are part of Medline’s $2 billion Healthcare Resilience Initiative, a national capital expenditure campaign that included new distribution centers, manufacturing capabilities and information technology (IT) upgrades to further their commitment to delivering superior customer service.
