February 10, 2023 – Medicom recently announced the creation of the Medicom Scholarship Fund to financially support the academic excellence of students in the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) programs at the University of Sherbrooke, in collaboration with the Centre for Continuing Education of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the School of Nursing.
The University of Sherbrooke’s graduate microprogram and specialized graduate diploma in IPC (DESS) promotes the development of the knowledge and skills needed to manage all areas of infection prevention and control, including the intervention of complex situations. Both programs are currently open for admission until August 1st.
“The recent pandemic has highlighted the interconnectedness of various healthcare players, as well as the importance of maintaining infection prevention and control best practices. This discipline is the core essence of what we do at Medicom. As a Quebec-based global company, we are particularly pleased to be able to offer our support to the next generation of healthcare professionals in the same province as where our company is founded, and to highlight the essential role they play in protecting our communities today and in the future. We could not find a better partner than the University of Sherbrooke,” said Guillaume Laverdure, CEO of Medicom.
“Supporting infection prevention and control education is critical to develop safe and quality care,” declared Professor Isabelle Reeves, Director of the Infection Prevention and Control graduate microprograms and DESS at the University of Sherbrooke.
This financial support is just one example of Medicom’s investment and commitment to corporate social responsibility, and specifically of the company’s goal to support and propel the communities and industries that it serves.
