April 28, 2021 – Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN) said it plans to expand the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Building to 11 stories.
Mayo Clinic says the new facility will enable the team-based scientists of Mayo Clinic to continue finding care solutions for patients. It will feature 11 floors and 176,000 square feet of flexible laboratory space.
The health system initially announced in 2019 plans to build a four-story lab and research facility. However, Mayo Clinic says that, “The pandemic experience has demonstrated the need to grow and accelerate scientific advancements, and science is conducted in physical space.”
The facility is expected to be completed in late 2023.
