February 9, 2021 – The Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Co. plans to create an $11 million manufacturing laboratory.
The 22,000-square-foot location is described as “demo and new construction” on an existing footprint on South Watson street, according the filing that was earlier reported in the Dallas Morning News.
Construction is set to begin this month and be completed in 2022.
Cuban’s firm aims to produce low-cost versions of high-cost generics. The company started in July 2018 as Osh’s Affordable Pharmaceuticals, Alex Oshmyansky, the company’s CEO, told the Dallas Business Journal in January. Then, Cuban invested in it during November of that year, and “allowed us to dramatically accelerate our plans and ambitions,” Oshmyansky said.
The company is “dedicated to producing low-cost versions of high-cost generic drugs,” the company’s website says.
