April 13, 2023 – 3A Medical Products, a leading global manufacturer of medical nonwoven products, and Hilo Industries, a minority-owned (BIPOC) U.S. based manufacturer and distributor of nonwoven products, have announced a joint venture for manufacturing, operations, and exclusive distribution of gowns, drapes, and other surgical nonwovens in the Americas. Hilo is the managing partner and majority owner of the venture which recently established a manufacturing site for surgical gowns in Ohio and will begin automated production of surgical gowns in 2H2023.
The new venture, named Hilo Medical LLC, will leverage the expertise of both companies to produce high-quality, cost-effective medical supplies for healthcare providers in the Americas. The joint venture will be headquartered in the United States and will leverage geographically diverse manufacturing facilities in both the Americas and Asia. Hilo Medical is the exclusive license holder of all gown manufacturing automation in the Americas.

Hilo Medical’s gowns and drapes will be made from nonwoven materials that are lightweight, durable, and provide an effective barrier against fluids and microorganisms. The products will be available in a range of sizes and configurations to meet the needs of different healthcare settings.

Hilo Medical will begin operations immediately, with plans to expand production and sales both organically and through acquisition in the coming months.
