March 21, 2024- At the Executive Summit at HIMSS24, a recurring topic was keeping up with the pace of technological change, according to Healthcare Finance and digital information officers speaking at the Summit. According to Novlet Mattis, chief digital and information officer for Orlando Health, the pace of technological innovation has changed, but the financing for those technologies has lagged. This has resulted in increased obstacles within the healthcare sector, requiring companies to build out data platforms and convince leaders to invest in technology.
Finding the right technology plan, sticking to it, and giving clinicians solutions-based technology may help clinicians to provide better patient care, however change managers must communicate clearly what technology is needed and make sure staff are able to use it.
