The healthcare industry has been struggling to retain and recruit employees and navigate increased financial challenges. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, last year was the worst financial year on record for health systems.
Many physicians are leaving the healthcare field altogether. Healthcare and social assistance saw 588,000 people leave their position in May, an increase from 519,000 the previous month. Healthcare industry leaders are increasingly seeking recruitment and retention strategies that consider nurses’ mental health and well-being.
