March 7, 2022 – Excelerant Consulting, a leading healthcare industry consultancy, today announced the addition of Michael L. Thatcher, Sr. as Partner. Thatcher brings with him more than a quarter-century of success in building and leading high-achieving sales organizations, establishment of sales goals and objectives, insightful strategy development, revenue growth and healthcare industry disruptive technology product launches.
Thatcher most recently served as National Sales Director for Advanced Procedures at Applied Medical. He completely restructured a multi-functional team of Advanced Procedure Managers and Sales Specialists, and oversaw the U.S. launch of the company’s flagship product, including the successful achievement of ambitious revenue-growth and market-penetration goals. He also led the strategic targeting of Integrated Delivery Networks [IDNs] and Group Purchasing Organizations [GPOs] to successfully secure contracts in many of the largest U.S. hospital systems and healthcare networks.
In his new role as Partner, Thatcher will consult with Excelerant clients to help identify their specific needs and align them with one of the consultancy’s multi-tiered levels of service — its retainer-based primary offering of end-to-end portfolio solutions, including strategic planning and execution, sales force development and optimization, and contract negotiation; or Excel Advisor™, Excelerant’s scaled, second-tier offering which includes a limited number of monthly hours for telephone-based consultation to help medical device manufacturers better understand the healthcare sales landscape and to plan a more successful product launch.
