July 6, 2021 – Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Lozick Cancer Pavilion to mark the start of construction on a 10,600-square-foot addition to the hospital’s existing cancer center.
Cleveland Clinic says that the new structure, located at the south end of Hillcrest’s campus, will focus on improving the experience of patients by implementing patient and caregiver feedback which was instrumental during the building’s design phase.
A direct connection between the building’s lower-level radiation therapy services and the second-floor oncology spaces will be created.
Infusion treatments will be offered in both private and community rooms. Donor support also will enable a patient navigator to help guide each patient throughout their cancer care journey.
The second floor will include dedicated music and art therapy rooms for patients, along with other support services.
Along with the new construction, plans include interior renovations of the existing space.
Construction is expected to begin in August with completion in the summer of 2023.
All hospital and cancer center services will continue to be provided during construction.
