Cleveland Clinic appoints new leader for advanced practice providers

August 2, 2024- Cleveland Clinic has named Melissa Stoudmire, MSN, APRN-CNP, to the newly created position of Vice President, Advanced Practice Providers, effective Aug. 1. In that role, Stoudmire will lead more than 3,600 advanced practice providers in Cleveland Clinic’s Ohio and Florida markets. Advanced practice providers include physician assistants, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, certified nurse midwives, certified registered nurse anesthetists and certified anesthesiologist assistants.

Stoudmire, who joined Cleveland Clinic in 2012, will report to Dr. Ridgeway and Meredith Foxx, MBA, MSN, APRN, Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. In the new role, she will collaborate with Cleveland Clinic institute and market leaders in all clinical areas to ensure consistent standards of care and patient experience.

Stoudmire has served as director of advanced practice providers since 2017 at Cleveland Clinic Akron General where she provided strategic, clinical and operational oversight. She also was responsible for the clinical oversight and collaborative operations of advanced practice providers in the Partners Physician Group outpatient practices.

Stoudmire received her master’s degree in nursing from Malone University in Northeast Ohio. She completed a leadership fellowship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and Cleveland Clinic’s Executive Nursing Leadership Fellowship.
