March 5, 2021 – Capstone Health Alliance (Fletcher, NC) was awarded with the esteemed Spirit of North Carolina Award from United Way of North Carolina. The virtual awards ceremony was held March 3, 2021.
The Spirit of North Carolina award is given by United Way organizations across North Carolina. The awarded companies have not only demonstrated excellence in their United Way campaign but are also building a philanthropic culture community-wide. In addition to campaign participation and employee donations, winning organizations received high marks for their volunteer culture, including collaborative work with United Way as well as other organizations in the community.
Capstone Health Alliance was nominated for the award by the United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County and has supported the organization for more than a decade. The support comes through employee donations, participation on United Way committees, employee volunteer projects and leading the support of the annual holiday book drive.
Sara Morrison, Resource Development Manager with the United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County said “March 2nd was Read Across America, and because of Capstone’s support and sponsorship of our Holiday Book Drive, Asheville and Buncombe County’s children were able to have new books to read. We could not be more thankful to Tim Bugg, his exceptional leadership and all the staff at Capstone!”
