March 22, 2024- Following the announcement by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the update on March 19, 2024, that some plastic medical syringes have been recalled, the U.S. has experienced a need for medical syringes. BD and BD’s President of Medication Delivery Solutions issued a statement that BD has the capacity to support additional syringe demand, and that the company is also able to increase U.S. production to ensure proper patient care in the U.S. Since November, BD has increased domestic syringe manufacturing in its Nebraska and Connecticut facilities to respond to customer needs.
