Baxter welcomes employees back to work, provides Hurricane Helene facility updates

October 15, 2024- Baxter announced that they have welcomed back more than 1,000 employees to work as of last week, according to a press release, with an additional 1,000 remediation contractors on site to aid in the cleanup and recovery. This week, the company expects to have 3,000 people contributing to recovery efforts – with nearly 2/3 of those being Baxter employees. Current priorities regarding facilities and infrastructure are a deep cleaning of the facility, a second temporary bridge being installed at the site, and as shared Oct. 9, the company’s goal is to begin restarting North Cove production in phases by the end of this year.
