May 11, 2021 – Ascension St. Vincent announced it is investing $325 million to expand the system’s flagship campus at 86th Street in Indianapolis.
The expansion at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital will include relocating the Ascension St. Vincent Women’s Hospital, as well as building a new Brain and Spine Hospital and a new parking garage.
When the women’s hospital is relocated, it will gain 268,000 square feet of new space featuring more than 100 additional private neonatal intensive care unit (ICU) rooms. It will be connected to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.
The new Brain and Spine Hospital is being developed in partnership with Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine (Carmel, IN). According to Ascension, the hospital will include the integration of the Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine research institute and a new residency training program.
Ascension St. Vincent says it will award 25% of design and construction work on the project to certified veteran-, women-, and minority-owned businesses with at least 50% of the work coming from Indiana communities.
