July 29, 2024- Ansell’s manufacturing facility in Sri Lanka has won Gold in the Rubber-based Production category at Sri Lanka’s Presidential Environment Awards Ceremony 2024. More than 1200 guests attended the award ceremony on June 28, which was held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) under the distinguished patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Organized annually by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA), the Presidential Environment Awards bestow state honours on industries, organizations and individuals for outstanding contribution to sustainable development in Sri Lanka.
Ansell has implemented a number of sustainability initiatives at the manufacturing facility that contributed to the success of this Gold award, including renewable energy projects, responsible waste management, and ongoing training and awareness. Leadership and close follow-up from their environment, health and safety (EHS) team, plus support from other departments, have also helped embed the plant’s culture of sustainability.
