August 21, 2024- Alfa Wassermann Diagnostic Technologies, LLC (AWDT) announced the launch of a new Vitamin D assay, manufactured by Diazyme Laboratories for use on Alfa Wassermann’s ACE Axcel® and ACE Alera® Clinical Chemistry Systems.
This in vitro diagnostic test recognizes both Vitamin D2 and D3 equally and is intended for use in clinical laboratories for the quantitative determination of 25-OH Vitamin D (Vitamin D) in human serum and plasma using automated clinical chemistry analyzers. With no required pre-treatment or pre-dilution, the assay has a rapid throughput of less than 10 minutes. This assay is certified by the CDC VDSCP Program, meets the performance target set by the DEQAS advisory panel, and traces to NIST.
Alfa Wassermann Diagnostic Technologies Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mark Gnagy, is pleased to announce the product. “We are excited to offer Vitamin D testing to Alfa Wassermann Diagnostic Technologies customers. Physicians have faced challenges when looking to run in-office Vitamin D testing. This assay offers the opportunity to run in-house at a cost-effective price and without the need for special instrumentation.”
